Meet the Makers

Kat

Kat Bazeley is the owner and founder of BlueBarn.Life. The business evolved from Kat’s love of textiles and quirky garments from charity shops and jumble sales. Kat started by modifying and upcycling the clothes she found, then she learned to sew and later began to make for friends and family.

Ken

Ken comes from a background in design and for twenty years ran a successful manufacturing company supplying clothes to prestigious stores all over the UK. Ken has been working with us at BlueBarn.Life since 2018, soon after we started.

Maggi

Maggi trained in all aspects of the fashion industry and went on to create and make for small independent boutiques. She has also worked as a personal seamstress for some high-profile clients, both in the UK and abroad. Maggi joined us in 2020.

Sarah

Sarah worked in London for many years making wedding clothes and for a high-end London designer. Luckily for us, Sarah moved locally in 2021 and joined us soon after.

Joss

Joss has been involved with BlueBarn.Life since the beginning. Everyone who knows our work will be familiar with her – she’s a natural model. Much more than that, Joss has a PhD in design and works at the studio one day a week.

Lorette

Lorette is a professional patchworker and her work is exquisite. We take her a bag of scraps and she turns them into beautiful fabric to be transformed into beautiful and unusual clothes.

Rosie

Rosie is a brilliant knitter who works with Kat to produce our unique hand-knitted jumpers.

Gill

Gill is a brilliant knitter who works with Kat to produce our unique hand-knitted jumpers.
